Dream It. Do It. PA

Philadelphia Region, Several More Areas Join Dream It. Do It. PA Movement

The Dream It. Do It. PA movement continues to spread across the Keystone State as the partnership will host eight regional student video contests on its website during the 2016-2017 school year.

Along with the flagship Lehigh Valley contest for middle school students, the site will host entries and viewer voting for the following Pennsylvania areas:

The contests for Berks County, Cambria and Somerset Counties, the North Central Region, the Philadelphia Area, and the South Central Region are new for the 2016-2017 season. Dream It. Do It. PA hosted contests for Chester County and the Pittsburgh Area in 2016.

The contests in other regions follow the format established with the Lehigh Valley region, titled What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Teams of middle school students are provided video equipment and training and are matched with manufacturing companies and teacher coaches. The teams create short video profiles of their companies and the career opportunities they offer. By improving the image of these careers and creating awareness for them, the contest not only aims to sustain manufacturing careers, but aims to help them thrive.

Awards will be given for outstanding student videos, including a Viewers Choice Award, as determined by a fan vote at DreamItDoItPA.com.

Dream It. Do It. PA is a partnership directed by the Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC) in Allentown, Pa., and is dedicated to changing perceptions and attitudes in the Keystone State about advanced manufacturing careers. Dream It. Do It. PA started in 2013 as an effort called Lehigh Valley Skill Up to raise awareness in the Lehigh Valley area. The popularity of the partnership’s flagship student video contests and its rights to the national Dream It. Do It. brand for Pennsylvania have enabled it to expand its reach throughout the commonwealth.
